Deborah Dow - Associate Consultant
A specialist in individual giving, both at community and high net worth levels (including many six and seven figure gifts), Deborah has run her own consultancy business for the last two years following fourteen years in the voluntary sector. Her specialisms include corporate and individual fundraising, senior strategic fundraising and marketing for clients in the housing sector, NHS Trusts (John Radcliffe and Worthing hospital trusts), the hospice movement, neurological services and children’s charities. She has been Director of Fundraising for Sue Ryder Care and also managed public relations and corporate events programmes for a number of clients. Her previous private sector experience translated to development of new funding products and partnership work with local authorities, commercial and benevolent organisations. Her community fundraising experience includes planned/tax effective giving programmes, direct mail, lottery and annual house to house collections and legacies. She can also advise on back of house support and admin, including database procurement, installation and management.

Marjorie Ellis Thompson - Consultant, Campaigns & Communications
Marjorie Thompson is a highly accomplished professional with over 25 years’ experience in public affairs/lobbying on both sides of the Atlantic, political PR and communications campaigning across the UK and Europe, and as one of the world’s authorities on cause-related or social marketing. She had a long association with the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) working as  Parliamentary Officer, Head of Press and Public Relations and then as Vice Chair and ultimately Chair. She then moved to be Head of Communications for the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) and later established Cause Connection at Saatchi and Saatchi introducing the concept that brands should have a social dimension. In 2002 she established her own consultancy C3i and has worked with the following clients: the Political Studies Association, the Motor Neurone Disease Association, the General Teaching Council, Lynn’s Bowel Cancer Campaign, the All Party Group on Runaway and Missing Children, Film London, Kids’ Company, the Sheila McKechnie Foundation and Drugscope amongst others. 

Marjorie is co-author with Hamish Pringle of the best-selling book ‘Brand Spirit:  How Cause Related Marketing Builds Brands’ which is now in 8 languages and her book with Christian Conrad ‘Communicating Corporate Social Responsibility’ is expected to be out in January 2011.

Catharine Langrish - Associate Consultant
Catharine brings 14 years’ knowledge and experience of successfully developing and implementing fundraising from a variety of sources (including individuals, trusts, corporate, community and government) for charities of varying sizes in health, mental health, education, human rights and development sectors.

Catharine is an all-round fundraising specialist, with particular strengths in: fundraising audits; strategic development; start-ups fundraising operations; establishment of new trust and major donor fundraising programmes; development of new funding relationships; bid-writing; and team recruitment and development.



Jackie Mendoza - Director & Principal Consultant


Jackie has just over 20 years’ commercial sales, marketing and voluntary sector fundraising experience. She started her career in the sector as a Corporate Partnerships Account Manager and worked through to Director level for a range of charities including Age Concern England, Victim Support, Breast Cancer Care, Kids, Rethink and Childhood First. Jackie’s strengths lie in managing change, kick-starting or trouble-shooting income streams and setting up fundraising functions. Her specialisms include new business development, corporates, major donors and change management as well as an increasing interest in digital and social media.

Clare Skivington - Associate Consultant


Clare is an experienced fundraiser specialising in major donor development, corporate fundraising, event management and interim management.

She has been working in the sector for over 15 years. Clare started her career at Oxfam GB as a campaigner and moved to their fundraising department culminating in heading up their major donor team raising £2.8 million. Since leaving Oxfam, Clare has worked with The Princess Royal Trust for Carers, Pump Aid, IntoUniversity, Action for Children and JUCONI Ecuador.

Her achievements include successfully managing teams though times of significant change, writing bids of up to $8,000,000 and securing income from individual major donors of up to £250,000

Anna Walsh - Associate Consultant (part-based in Washington DC)
Anna has nearly a decade’s experience in fundraising and brings a lifelong obsession for better communication to all of her work. She works primarily in individual giving, with a particular passion for integrating acquisition and retention successfully. She also has unique experience of face to face fundraising campaigns and use of digital and social media in the supporter journey.

Anna has worked with a wide range of charities, including CARE International, Sense, Barnardo’s, Shelter, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Cancer Research UK, Amnesty International, Rethink and Save the Children. Her expertise with donor engagement lies in finding an organization’s story and matching donor communications to audiences, for increased engagement and increased ROI. Her strength within organisations lies in trouble-shooting struggling campaigns and internal processes; managing change and building integration either of a campaign or across departments. She has worked extensively in recruitment and staff development with 12 years’ experience training adults and professionals and an additional 6 years’ experience of life coaching. She has a knack for getting difficult things done.

Isabel White - Associate Consultant
An NCVO Approved Consultant, Isabel has 26 years' experience in the private and voluntary sectors. She manages a large network of associate fundraisers and social entrepreneurs, with a huge breadth of collective experience, working in the public, private and voluntary sectors. She has worked with over 130 clients, on over 150 assignments and in that time has helped them to raise over £19m. Her own experience covers first and second tier orgs working in the arts, crime and community safety,(dis)ability, education, enterprise, biodiversity and the environment, health, heritage, housing, human rights, leisure, regeneration, renewable energy, recycling and waste management and social welfare, in the UK and increasingly, in Europe.
